# Requirements: Quote & Price Estimator

> **Version 1.0.0 · Last updated 2026-10-22 · Estimated setup time: 45–90 minutes**

Use this checklist before you hand CLONE-INSTRUCTIONS.md to your clone. Your clone will also check most of this during discovery.

---

## 1. Required skills / operators

Use the exact names below. **Confirm them in your skill catalog** before saving the skill. Your clone will report the exact names it finds.

> Skill names can differ slightly between orgs. Confirm the exact names in your skill catalog before saving the skill.

**Pick one price-list route (required):**

| # | Skill / operator (exact name) | What it's used for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | **Microsoft_Excel** (with **Microsoft_OneDrive**) | Read the price sheet and Pricing Rules tab; build Excel quotes | Excel in OneDrive or SharePoint |
| 2 | **GoogleSheets-Operator** (with **GoogleDriveCoreOperator**) | Same, for Google Sheets | Google Workspace users |
| 3 | **Microsoft Share Point Queries** | Read a SharePoint list as the price list | Needs Sites.Read.All on the Microsoft connection |

**Pick one quote-document route (required):**

| # | Skill / operator (exact name) | What it's used for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | **Microsoft_Word** or **Microsoft_Excel** | Build the quote as Word or Excel | Microsoft 365 users |
| 5 | **GoogleDocsCoreOperator** or **GoogleSheets-Operator** | Build the quote as Docs or Sheets | Google Workspace users |

**Also required:**

| # | Skill / operator (exact name) | What it's used for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | **Quote Builder** (custom skill) | The workflow itself | Saved from CLONE-INSTRUCTIONS.md section 7 |

**Optional but common:**

| # | Skill / operator (exact name) | What it's used for | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | **GoogleGmailOperator** or **Outlook email operator** | Read emailed requests and attachments (PDF, CSV, Excel); create customer email DRAFTS | Needed for email requests; confirm Outlook name in your catalog |
| 8 | **search_knowledge** | Pricing policy docs, terms and exclusions | Attach a knowledge base via `platform` |
| 9 | **SalesforceOpportunityOperator**, **SalesforceActivityOperator** | Log quote amount and file link | Salesforce users |
| 10 | **HubspotDealOperator**, **HubspotEngagementOperator** | Log quote amount and file link | HubSpot users |

## 2. Connections and minimum permissions

| Connection | Minimum permission | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 (OneDrive/SharePoint) | **Read** the price list; **edit** the quote folder. **Sites.Read.All** to read SharePoint lists and files | Price lookup and quote files |
| Google Drive / Sheets / Docs | **View** the price list; **edit** the quote folder | Same |
| Gmail or Outlook (optional) | **Read** mail and attachments; **create drafts** (no send needed) | Read requests, draft the customer email |
| Salesforce or HubSpot (optional) | **Write** access to opportunities/deals and activities/engagements; admin NOT required | Log quote amount and file link |

Important points:

- Use **your own** accounts, connected by you through the platform's sign-in (OAuth). Your clone never needs your password.
- **SharePoint "access denied"?** Delete and re-create the Microsoft connection so it picks up new permissions (Sites.Read.All), then retry.
- **Some CRM connections must be finished manually** in the clone's Connections / Integrations settings.

## 3. Optional add-ons

| Add-on | Adds | Operators |
|---|---|---|
| **Policy knowledge base** | Terms, warranty, exclusions, pricing policy | `search_knowledge` via `platform` |
| **CRM logging** | Quote amount and file link on the opportunity or deal | Salesforce or HubSpot operators |
| **Email requests** | Quote from an email with spec attached | Gmail or Outlook |
| **Alias column** | Better matching of customer part numbers to yours | Your price sheet |

### Salesforce ⇄ HubSpot mapping

| Generic concept | Salesforce | HubSpot |
|---|---|---|
| **Opportunity / deal** | Opportunity (SalesforceOpportunityOperator) | Deal (HubspotDealOperator) |
| **Quote log entry** | Task or note-type activity via SalesforceActivityOperator | Note engagement via HubspotEngagementOperator |
| **Amount** | Logged in the activity text (Amount field is not changed unless you ask) | Logged in the note (deal amount is not changed unless you ask) |
| **File link** | In the activity description | In the note body |

### Google ⇄ Microsoft 365 mapping

| Concept | Google Workspace | Microsoft 365 |
|---|---|---|
| Email, attachments, drafts | Gmail (GoogleGmailOperator) | Outlook email operator |
| Price sheet | Google Sheets (GoogleSheets-Operator) | Excel (Microsoft_Excel) or SharePoint list (Microsoft Share Point Queries) |
| Quote document | Google Docs (GoogleDocsCoreOperator) or Sheets | Word (Microsoft_Word) or Excel |
| Files | Google Drive (GoogleDriveCoreOperator) | OneDrive (Microsoft_OneDrive) / SharePoint |
